About SCPGA

The South Carolina Propane Gas Association is a trade and membership service organization that represents propane marketers throughout the state. Founded March 25, 1948, the Association has grown in its influence, while maintaining its core principles of education and safety. The Associations' primary purpose is to maintain high standards of practice within the industry, and in so doing, protect and expand the ability of its members to compete in the marketplace.

Propane won't ignite when combined with air unless the source of ignition reaches at least 920 degrees Fahrenheit. In contrast, gasoline will ignite when the source of ignition reaches only 430 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
