Propane Council Launches New Industry Safety Website

2008-01-28

Safety & Training Website

PERC's Safety & Training website, www.propanesafety.com, has undergone a face-lift to allow marketers to get the information they need easier and quicker than ever before.  Propanesafety.com no longer requires a password to login, thereby making downloading files and accessing important safety information quick and easy.

Other new features include a comprehensive navigation bar, which is available on all pages of the new website, thereby allowing users to easily negotiate the site, and access information in just one click. Also the new website has easy access to brand new safety tips, helping the industry stay at the forefront of Safety and Training.  There is also a universal website search tool on the new website, which allows users to search the entire site as well as searching just Regulatory Compliance for OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.

At propanesafety.com marketers can easily download files such as the CETP Administration Guide, the Gas Check™ manual and CETP Cross Reference Modules, Dispensing Propane Safely text, Consumer Safety Education materials, Propane Emergencies Third Edition text, and much more.

Propane has a narrow range of flammability when compared with other petroleum products. In order to ignite, the propane/air mix must contain from 2.2 to 9.6 percent propane vapor. If the mixture contains less than 2.2 percent gas, it is too lean to burn. If it contains more than 9.6 percent, it is too rich to burn.
